VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR | WEEKLY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 20, 2019

Video Killed The Radio Star

This edition of the Weekly Report is about video, so we made a video of me reading you the Weekly Report — in case you didn’t want to read it.

Monday, September 16 – Who’s Your Driver?

Yes, that is Richmond Raceway President Dennis “One-Take” Bickmeier driving that golf cart at the track. The promotional video we made a few weeks ago for Who’s Your Driver? got final approval on Monday and we rolled it out in advance of this week’s big race weekend. The Go Bowling 250 is tonight and the Federated Auto Parts 400 is Saturday. Have fun at the races, buckle up and ask yourself, “Who’s Your Driver?”

Tuesday, September 17 – A Dozen Years Of Kindness

COO Molly “Maternity Eternity” Whitfield is out on baby-leave, but that didn’t stop us from celebrating her 12th anniversary with Madison+Main. She got a big bouquet of flowers, virtual hugs, and lots of reminiscing about ‘the good ‘ol days.’ To show her how much we really love her, I dug up this video of her singing karaoke at Penny Lane Pub, circa 2009.

Wednesday, September 18 – Blue Gene Bash

The Madison+Main-iacs joined forces with our client Hitting Cancer Below The Belt (HCB2) and helped raised nearly $5,000 Wednesday night to fight colon cancer. Special thanks to Steam Bell Beer Works, What’s On Tap Band and auctioneer extraordinaire Ernie “Fast-Talkin” Rogers, of Blacktie Benefit Auctions. I picked up a very cool behind-the-scenes tour of WRIC TV-8 and a Burger Bach dinner and wine pairing for six. You want to join me?

Thursday, September 19 – International Talk Like A Pirate Day

Thursday was International Talk Like A Pirate day, something we’ve celebrated for 13 straight years at M+M, but we were so busy Thursday, we forgot and “nary a yar” was spoken. #Arrrrrggggghhhhh

Friday, September 20 – Having A Ball

Weekly Report readers know that we have a ball at Madison+Main and this Friday is no exception. The team decided to participate in Venture Richmond’s Park(ing) Day and we created a temporary micro-park or Park(let) in two parking spaces in front of our International HQ at 101 E. Cary St. Dubbed the “Ball Park” it features a ball pit, putting green, monkey ball, cornhole and lots of other ball games. The winner’s idea gets turned into a permanent park in RVA. Check out Instagram for today’s pics. Big thanks to George Durocher at J. M. Fry Printing Inks and Stevi Brockwell at Garden Sanctuaries Landscaping & Design, LLC for allowing us to upcycle their old shipping pallets for our fencing. #BoldBallsWin
