In the past, you have been asked to walk for the MS Society. You have been asked to bike. Now, you are being asked to help us complete the final leg of the ultimate triathlon of support. If you’re thinking a nice swim across the James, you are sadly mistaken. No swimming, no bathing suits (unless you really want to wear it, in which case, rock on). It’s time to show your support for Multiple Sclerosis by rounding up your drinking buddies and bar crawling around downtown Richmond, enjoying “D to tha licious” finger foods and drink specials all night long. It’s the MS Society Shockoe Shuffle hosted by Richmond.com, and it’s Thursday, August 9th – NEXT WEEK!
For those confused about what a bar crawl is, please note the following definition:
Bar Crawl [bahr krawl] n. (Urban Dictionary)
1) When individuals go from bar to bar in a small vicinity. Usually they drink so much at the first few bars that by the time they get to the last one they’re crawling from drunkenness.
2) When people go from bar to bar in a strip of bars in the same vicinity. As long as you have the stamp on your hand from the first bar you went to, you are allowed to get into the other bars for free. Make sure you know your bars’ bar crawl rules and stuff though.
The Shockoe Shuffle will take place August 9th, 2012 from 5-9 pm. The crawling/shuffling begins at Major Willy’s (115 S. 15th St.) and continues on to bars such as, Cha Cha’s, Lucky Bhudda, Kai, The Tobacco Company Restaurant, and many more.
Tickets can be bought at the door or at iwalkforms.org. See you there!
