The Worst-Kept Secret
It’s official! We’re opening a third location of the Texas Inn in beautiful downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia. We found the perfect location, and construction has been underway for about a month now. We’re set to open our doors (unofficially) on August 22, 2022. The official grand opening will be after Labor Day.
All of the tellers at the bank know about it. Government officials from the mayor’s office, to the electric cooperative, to waste management, have all heard about it. Passersby stop to peer in the windows and many opened up the door and asked, “What’s going on in here?” I’ve talked to anybody and everybody who will listen. The UPS driver who makes deliveries every day is a huge fan of the T-Room. In fact, he and his wife drive down once or twice a month just to eat. He promises to eat at the new location five times a week. His wife told me she’s happy about that because she’d like to cook less for him.
The new listing is live on Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor, and many other online directories. The new location is printed on our menus and appears on the first page of our website. We will be running Google Search and Display Ads in the weeks after we open up. We will send a press release out to Harrisonburg’s one and only television station, multiple radio stations, the Daily News-Record, and the JMU student newspaper, The Breeze.
In other words, our secret will not be a secret anymore. We are going to make sure that every man, woman, and child within a 30-mile radius of 95 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801 is aware of the Texas Inn.
Last week, I wrote about the best-kept secret. I want to make sure the Texas Inn Harrisonburg is the worst-kept secret in the history of mankind. This is the kind of thinking that will make our restaurant successful, and I’m just glad I have an agency like Madison+Main to help me accomplish all of this.
MONDAY:
ALL ABOUT KATIE AND KENNEDY
Over the weekend, Finance & Operations Manager Katie Rossberg celebrated her four-year anniversary with us! She puts the “Maven” in “Mavenlink” — answering all of our team’s questions and giving us much-needed insight into how to better our productivity and work practices. I call her “Bossberg” for a reason. Thanks for always keeping us on our toes and on top of things, Katie!
On Monday, Communications Specialist Kennedy Heidel used her Community Volunteer Time to give back to those in need. She came across the Red Cross’s urgent need for blood donors and decided to help save some lives. Follow in her footsteps if you have some free time!
TUESDAY:
NICOLE’S BIRTHDAY
On Tuesday, a resounding chorus of Slack notifications went off simultaneously as we sent our many “Happy Birthday” messages to Account Executive Nicole Collins. First birthdays are a big deal. Especially if it’s your first birthday as a Madison+Main-iac. Hope you like our gift, Nicole! It’s hard to wrap a day off from work, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
WEDNESDAY:
TIME WELL SPENT AT FORT MONROE
On Wednesday, Account Manager Marita Cardenas and Communications Specialist Kennedy Heidel hit the road bright and early to head down to our client Fort Monroe to spend the day capturing content for some upcoming social media work we’ll be doing for them. They hit over 10,000 steps, soaked up some sun (and history), and even got to witness the weekly winding of one of their clocks! Great job, team — glad it wasn’t a waste of time.
THURSDAY:
MAOLA ON THE MOOO-VE
On Thursday, I drove down the highway and spotted something very familiar. A truck repping our client Maola Milk and their big, bold logo cruised along right in front of me. We love seeing our clients and our work while we’re out and about. If you see them on the road, remember to do one thing: honk if you love wholesome dairy goodness! And if they’re stopped, make sure to mooo-ve over.
FRIDAY:
BIG WIN IN THE NORTHERN NECK
Last week, The Rivah Visitor Guide’s reader contest voted our client Compass Entertainment Complex as the No. 1 “Best Place For A Date” in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Virginia! With on-site attractions, a six-screen luxury boutique movie theater, and a full-service restaurant and bar, all signs point to Compass for date night. Congratulations on the recognition!
