Super Bowl Ads 2022

Last Sunday’s Super Bowl may be a distant memory but when the clock winds down on the game, I wind up to hit the radio and TV airways the next day. For the 13th year in a row, I was unable to enjoy the big game because I was furiously typing notes into my MacBook Air and setting an alarm for 3 a.m. This Monday, I was up at the crack of dawn to speak to The Sports King with host Jamie King on ESPN 106.1 FM and then dropped by CBS 6 to chat with Jessica Noll and Bill Bevins on Virginia This Morning. Just after 5 p.m. Monday afternoon, I joined Jeff Katz on WRVA to recap my five best and five worst Super Bowl LVI ads. In case you missed one of my media appearances this week, here are my picks.
Five Best
- General Motors “Dr. EV-il”
- Chevrolet Silverado “Sopranos New Generation”
- Rocket Mortgage “Barbie’s Dream House”
- Pringles “Stuck In”
- Kia “Robo Dog”
Five Worst
- Bud Light Seltzer Hard Soda “Land of Loud Flavors”
- Salesforce “The New Frontier”
- T-Mobile “Dolly Parton/Miley Cyrus”
- WeatherTech “Special Ops: Fit Crew”
- Skechers “Legalize”
Do you agree? Did I miss one? Email me here and give me your two cents. If you want to give me more than two cents, my Venmo is @David-Saunders-16.
MONDAY:
VALENTINE’S DAY
In preparation for Valentine’s Day, Madison+Main has been hard at work for our Fredericksburg friends, A. Smith Bowman Distillery. Our latest blog post for them helps you create the perfect at-home bourbon and chocolate tasting for two!
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I gave the Madison+Main-iacs a special gift and turned them into cartoon characters. Rather, I contracted Illustrate By Me to change their headshots into caricatures. I think they really captured the essence of our team, but I thought my picture looked more like actor Ray Liotta than me. In the spirit of this Hallmark-inspired holiday, I also wrote a poem for my incredible team members: “Roses are red, violets are blue, how did I get so lucky to find all of you?”

TUESDAY:
TAYLOR’S HEADSHOT
Taylor Peoples, our newest Account Executive at Madison+Main, has a new headshot! Sr. Art Director Carissa Ghaffari had to go “above and beyond” to capture this epic shot — with Taylor standing on a ladder and Carissa shooting from the top of her car. Great job, ladies.

WEDNESDAY:
HOLIDAY BARN PET RESORTS VIDEO+PHOTOSHOOT
On Wednesday, Account Executive Marita Cardenas and Creative Director Art Webb were on-site for a video and photoshoot for our paw-some client Holiday Barn Pet Resorts! The team had a blast grabbing content to celebrate their 50th Anniversary and imagery for social media. Great job, team!

THURSDAY:
FOX ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FUND
Last week, community members gathered outside Richmond Public Schools’ William Fox Elementary on Saturday, united in grief by the significant damage to Richmond’s 110-year-old famous building after a massive fire destroyed a majority of the structure the night before. Whether your children went to Fox or you simply want to show your support, donations may be made directly to Richmond Public School Foundation by visiting their website.
FRIDAY:
GREAT BOWLS OF FIRE CHALLENGE
Speaking of super bowls, do you think you could eat 72 ounces of Texas Inn chili? If so, join me next Thursday in Lynchburg! Earlier today, I was on air with Rich and Mari for WLNI’s Best of the Burg Podcast talking about the Texas Inn’s Great Bowls of Fire Chili Challenge on February 24! ICYMI: Here is the segment. Rhonda Rankin, General Manager of the T Room, and I spoke all about the upcoming event, the diner’s history, and more. It was a blast and we’re getting very excited for this big bowl event.
