I came across this Japanese McDonalds commercial and thought it was really interesting on a few different dimensions. McDonalds is one, if not the most recognizable brand in the world. In this commercial, McDonalds really stays true to it’s core identity. The color scheme, outfits down to the models hair color was an exact match. Viewers don’t need to see Ronald McDonald to know this is a McDonald’s commercial. Yet, on the other hand…the attractive/artsy model and progressive music remix is something that I don’t feel McDonald’s would take a chance like this in the states.
Funny how brand gets translated and yet repackaged for audiences.
