Power Partnerships

Hey y’all, it’s Leanne again. I’m still filling in for Bossman Dave this week. Not to worry: we’ve confirmed he’s thriving in the Mediterranean and has found the carnivorous options satisfactory.
While I still have the “mic,” there is something I’ve decided is worthy to rant about.
Sometimes when I’m working on a contract, it says something about being a “vendor.” And honestly? It gives me the ICK. There’s such a huge difference between being a vendor and being a partner, and I take offense to the idea that we’d be called the former.
A vendor shows up, does the job, and sends the invoice. No harm, no foul, but also no real connection. And I mean, I guess that works sometimes.
But a partner is the complete opposite. At Madison+Main, we partner with clients: we’re relationship-folks; people you can trust to care about your success as much as you do and to work alongside you to help make it happen.
Here’s what that looks like for us:
- M+M is all-in. We become a part of your team. Your goals become our goals. Your success isn’t just a line item for us, it’s personal. Sure, we have our own office, but we’re excited to be in the trenches with you. And when you win, we celebrate like it’s our own victory. (Drinks on us! …seriously, there’s a bar in our office for this exact purpose!)
- We’re mindful of your budget. We know every dollar counts, and we’re constantly tracking results and adjusting to make sure we’re being good stewards of your resources (and that we’re deserving of your trust!)
- We’re open and honest. Whether it’s a detailed report, helping stretch your budget, or giving you an honest opinion about an idea, we believe transparency is essential.
- We’re real people too. We love what we do and we want to make the process fun! By the end, nine times out of ten, we’re not just your marketing team, we’re your friends.
Long story short: Being a partner is about so much more than delivering results. It’s about trust, commitment, and showing up for the long haul. It means doing the right thing, building genuine relationships, and investing in client success, because when you thrive, we’re more than thrilled.
Meanwhile – here’s a peek at some of the things that happened this week to continue honoring and building our partnerships:
MONDAY:
PICTURE PERFECT FEBRUARY
Monday, while we caught up on our calendars, VP Leanne pointed out, this is a “perfect” February, falling from Sunday the first through this Saturday, the 28th! This hasn’t occurred since 2015, and won’t happen again until 2037. So soak up these last few days!
TUESDAY:
LETS TALK SEO
Tuesday some of our team sat down with the leadership at First Call Environmental, one of our very favorite partners, to talk through some SEO updates for their online properties.
Madison+Main is proud to help clients optimize their every investment in brand and web presence, and especially this great group of humans!
WEDNESDAY:
INTERNSHIP? RATHER, WIN-TERSHIP!
Madison+Main is proud to have hosted and helped springboard many interns through our 20 years – even Sr. Managing Copywriter Derek Fair started with us as an intern over 7 years ago! This year, we’re so proud to highlight the stellar accomplishments of Chelsea – our accounts intern, and Zoe, our copywriting intern!
Chelsea’s tireless work with our accounts team internally helped our processes so much that we’re proud to announce she’s joined us part time! Welcome to the team, Chelsea! You are such a welcome addition.
Zoe, whose great energy has added to multiple projects across the past year, is taking some huge wins into her graduating semester – she received five placements this past week at this year’s Selling With the Bulls competition at the University of South Florida. Known as one of the hardest testing processes in collegiate Sales, Zoe brought home a 1st place ranking in networking, 5th place overall for her sales pitch roleplay, 4th for LinkedIn prospecting, and a 6th in email prospecting, and sits in the Winner’s Circle, indicating she placed at the top of all her rounds. We’re so proud of Zoe and can’t wait to see what she does next!
THURSDAY:
WORKING LUNCH
Thursday, Accounts team celebs Anne Bowers and Amanda Anderson had lunch with our clients at Carroll – two R’s, two L’s. Carroll Plumbing and Heating are consistently awarded as one of Richmond’s favorite HVAC and plumbing pros. Their experience makes all the difference for Richmond’s historic homes and those who live there. We’re so glad to have Carroll as a client and look forward to our continued partnership!

FRIDAY:
OUR OWN MOLLIE B-DAY!
Though you hear a lot about what our accounts and creative teams are up to day-to-day, much of that wouldn’t be possible without our backbone and behind-the-scenes heroine, Mollie Banks. Mollie does everything – not an exaggeration – from calling in office repairs to making sure we have snacks and toilet paper, to being a one-woman HR department and helping every employee here onboard, feel resourced, and find their feet through their whole time with M+M.
And, today is Mollie B’s birthday! We don’t have enough opportunities to celebrate your amazing stories and perspective, your constant listening ear, and all you do, Mollie. We love you, and happy birthday!
Don’t forget, you can tune in to hear Leanne cover this weekend’s upcoming events, as she filled in again for Dave on WRVA this morning. ICYMI, and you’re planning your weekend, here’s the link!
