The Winners (And Losers) Of Super Bowl LVII

Super Bowl LVII was full of surprises, except for most of the ads. Forty of the 57 TV Big Game ads were released before the game, which has to be some sort of record. Although, I doubt anyone keeps track of that. Just like the game, there were winners (and losers). Players for the Kansas City Chiefs pocketed an extra $157,000, while the Philadelphia Eagles each got a paltry $82,000. For advertisers, the cost of a 30-second ad required an investment of $7 million for a Super Bowl spot. Player bonuses for both teams cost less than running a one-minute ad.
For the 14th year in a row, I was on numerous radio, web, and TV programs discussing my top three “best and worst” Super Bowl ads on Monday. I got plenty of time to plug my picks; Bud Light, Tubi, and Ram Trucks for the best and Squarespace, Temu, and M&M’s for the worst. I asked the Madison+Main-iacs to also share their picks:

There were a lot of great chats, but special thanks to Mike King from ESPN Radio’s On the MIC With MIKE for bringing the sound equipment to us, so we do an extended segment on his show.
