Bold Brands Win: You’re Hired – Part 4

(The following is the last of a four-part series on recruitment strategies and tactics recently used by Madison+Main for our clients. Over the last three months, Madison+Main has been supercharging recruitment campaigns. The results have been amazing. Hope you find it useful.)
Every industry is suffering from a labor crunch right now. It’s not just the medical and hospitality industries – it’s virtually every industry. The major ports are backed up because there are not enough longshoremen, even though their average hourly rate has risen from $13 to $25 an hour in the last year. There are not enough truckers. There are not enough warehouse workers and retail employees. The labor crunch — and a few other reasons — are causing inflation to hit a 40-year high. And in the business service sector, finding an experienced professional with a few years of experience (lawyer, architect, designer, etc.) is like picking up that needle in a haystack.
Whether you’re hiring for a minimum wage job or a highly skilled position with experience, you have to get creative and try new tactics. If you’ve been reading the Weekly Report, you’ll know Madison+Main has hired three rockstars in the last four months. And now we’re using the same recruitment advertising tactics that worked for us and we’re sharing them with clients.
Recently our client Williamsburg Landing needed help filling an extremely skilled, high-level position. To reach potential leads, we created a hyper-targeted LinkedIn InMail campaign to connect one-on-one with potential applicants on the social site. This cost-effective and personalized approach was able to reach both passive and active job candidates on LinkedIn. We tailored the message and geo-targeted the InMail to fill their Director of Nursing position in one month — resulting in 10+ qualified candidates applying for the position.
Lesson: Try new targeted digital tactics to reach highly-skilled candidates and you’ll save both time and money. Or just call us. We’ll handle it for you.
MONDAY:
BOURBON AND THE “BIG GAME”
In preparation for Valentine’s Day, Madison+Main has been hard at work for our Fredericksburg friends, A. Smith Bowman Distillery. Our latest blog post for them helps you create the perfect at-home bourbon and chocolate tasting for two!
Next Monday, I will once again hit the airways in my annual media blitz to discuss the best and worst ads of Super Bowl LVI. This Monday, I kicked off media week by calling into The Jeff Katz Show on 1140WRVA in Richmond. Jeff and I spoke about the ridiculously expensive Super Bowl ads this year, which topped out at $7 million for a 30-second spot. ICYMI: Here is the segment.
TUESDAY:
JEREMY COLB’S ANNIVERSARY DAY
On Tuesday, Office Manager Mollie Banks reminded us that Account Executive Jeremy Colb celebrated his 1st Madison+Main work anniversary. Quite honestly, most of us forgot he even worked here. But as it turns out, Jeremy has been “technically” employed with us for 12 months. All kidding aside, we couldn’t do without you, big guy.

Only 60% of our Comms Team are VCU graduates, but 100% of them decided to use my season tickets and attend the VCU basketball game on Tuesday night. The mighty Rams downed the “Also Rams” from Rhode Island 73-64 to score a thrilling nine-point victory. They met up for happy hour at Ipanema Café beforehand and had a great night on my company credit card.

WEDNESDAY:
PROF. BAILEY BROUGHTON
This week, the team spent Wednesday morning learning about Account Coordinator Bailey Broughton during her hilarious Madison+Main-iac University! Bailey spoke about her childhood, ambitions, and life at the University of Alabama. It was a great day and the Mainiac Universities will continue throughout the next couple of months. Stay tuned!

THURSDAY:
HOUSING FAMILIES FIRST
Our client Housing Families First is quickly approaching its goal of raising $4.4 million for its Opening Doors for Families capital campaign! The team recently created some great digital ads to promote this great cause. I challenge you to donate today.

FRIDAY:
AVA’S BIRTHDAY
Brand new Madison+Main-iac Jr. PR Specialist Ava Adenauer celebrates a big birthday tomorrow. She’s finally old enough to drink. #IThoughtThatWasFunny Seriously though, the Hokie grad has been a great addition to our team and for her special birthday, I bought her a new headshot on our website. Remember Ava, the photography session was free but additional prints will cost $19.99. By the way, have you seen the new MadisonMain.com recently? It’s a pretty spiffy website. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Magic, fairies, romance, and Love Potion run wild in Shakespeare’s beloved comedy. The lives of an acting troupe, four teenagers, and the Fairy Royal Court are turned upside-down when they cross paths with a mischievous sprite called Puck. Smiles, and laughter await ticket-holders who come to dream.
