Greetings from sunny Charleston, South Carolina, where I am recovering from last night’s drunken celebration of America’s birthday. There were hotdogs and plenty of libations. There were bombs bursting in air over Fort Sumter, but this time there was no War of Northern Aggression. I think I had a fifth for the Fourth, but I’ll be okay after this big steaming bowl of Shrimp & Grits. Luckily for me, the chef had enough sense to take the tails off first.
It was a short week, therefore it’s a short Weekly Report.
Monday, July 1 – Love From The Bottom Of Their Hearts
Monday morning we got a surprise visit from HCB2 (Hitting Cancer Below the Belt) Founder/Executive Director Mindy Conklin and Board Member Roger Cassem. They dropped off a beautiful basket filled with Kombucha, sparkling water, oranges, and other gut-friendly goodies. (Kombucha, in case you were wondering, is a fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened tea drink. Think of it as healthy hippie juice). It was a kind thank you gift for helping with this year’s Boxer Brief 5K. The event was their biggest ever, thanks in part to a killer PR push by their fave agency. We love working with Mindy, Roger and everyone at HCB2. #AttitudeOfGratitude
Tuesday, July 2 – Congrats! It’s A Tom-Boy
On Tuesday we threw a baby shower for Chief Operating Officer Molly Whitfield. We devoured a delicious cake that Graphic Designer Erin Rebmann baked and decorated. We also made some future predictions about Molly’s baby girl #3 — we think this one will be the tom-boy. Art Director Carissa Ghaffari won the baby bottle beer chug-off.
Wednesday, July 3 – Holiday On The Brain
Some people take off early before a big holiday, but not us. The Madison+Main-iacs were hard at work on Wednesday…including one who was writing his weekly email. #ahem
Thursday, July 4 – Happy Birthday America!
Happy Birthday America!
Friday, July 5 – OOO
Today we let the Madison+Main-iacs spend the day with friends and family. Me? I did the most American thing ever. I went to CVS with 37 coupons. I got 4 bags of stuff and picked up a new scarf. #Capitalism
