Brandy, She’s A Fine Girl
Today is Brandy Seay’s birthday. I believe she’s 39, but I’m not sure. (Gentlemen should never ask for age verification, unless bartending, otherwise you’re cruisin’ for a bruisin’). Happy __th Birthday Brandy!
For the past year and a half our Business Development Manager has really “knocked it out of the park.” Brandy “Brandita” Seay was previously a two-time client of Madison+Main, and she brought a unique perspective to prospective clients. She hired the Madison+Main-iacs twice, then became one.
Along the way she became a very valuable member of the team and a great friend, which is why it was so tough when she told me was leaving M+M. #SniffSniff #ThereIsSomethingInMyEye #ImFineJustGiveMeAMinute
The fine folks at Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods offered Brandy a phenomenal opportunity and she took it – after saying “no thanks” three times. We are sad to see her go, but thrilled she’ll be with a company that fosters such a cool culture. Plus, she promised me a lifetime supply of White House Rolls, before she left, so things are looking up. The second part of the trade was getting assurances that Ukrop’s will bring back breakfast pizza.
My bout of depression was short-lived though. I am extremely happy to announce that Account Manager Leanne Ferry will be stepping into a new role with the company this summer, as Madison+Main’s Director of Marketing. In this dual-role, she will be responsible for both new business development and agency marketing. Please congratulate Leanne “Little Miss Sunshine” Ferry on her new promotion.
Monday, May 15 – A Fresh New Crop Of Interns
Summer is almost here and you know what that means. Warm weather, sunshine, spring rains and…summer interns. For the first time ever, they all started on the same day. On Monday, we welcomed Kate, Shayla, and Daniel…all from VCU. I’m excited to see what they can bring to the table. Perhaps coffee.
Kate Molchany, PR intern.
Shayla Johnson, Account Management intern.
Daniel Golden, Graphic Design intern.
Tuesday, May 16 – You Can Find Me In Da Club
Read the title of this again using your best 50 Cent impression. The Midlothian Rotary Club held their annual charity awards breakfast meeting on Tuesday. Checks were presented to nine guests representing charity recipients. Five other organizations were also awarded funds to support their efforts. Midlothian raised money for these donations with The Magnificent Midlothian Food Festival in October and with our Sportsman’s Raffle this spring. In addition to supporting these charities, Midlothian also sponsored the nineteenth Chesterfield County Students of the Year Banquet where two students from each of the county schools were honored.
Wednesday, May 17 – We Hate To Seay You Go
On Wednesday Account Executive Allison Throckmorton and Art Webb went on location to work with BES Studios for Dr. Graham Forbes of Capital Dental Design. We shot some fun new videos to showcase their unique services and super personable team.
Later in the afternoon we said our official “see you laters” (not ‘goodbyes’) to Business Manager Brandy Seay. We piled into a three-car-convoy and celebrated her tenure at Madison+Main over Mexican food and margaritas from Banditos. (Or should I say, Branditos?)
Thursday, May 23 – 99 Problems But A Fizz Ain’t One
Last night I met some colleagues at Tang & Biscuit for the launch of Bold Rock Hard Seltzer from our client Bold Rock. The event was a BIG hit and I was excited to try both varieties — Grapefruit and Cucumber Melon. Both seltzers are handcrafted from fresh fruit and water from the Blue Ridge Mountains. And they’re just 82 calories each. After 3 of them, I challenged my fellow Madison+Main-iacs to shuffleboard. I’m way too competitive, but still thrilled to win 3 of 4 games. #WhosKeepingScore #Me
Friday, May 24 – Caught In The Webb
At lunch we learned all about Art Webb during the latest Madison+Main-iac Universitypresentation. In addition to being a rockstar Creative Director, he’s a world traveler, wave surfer, and a huge fan of The Martian andArmageddon. When asked, “What’s the first thing you’d eat if there was a pill that cured gluten allergies?”, he replied, “Biscuits and gravy fromCity Diner.” I was suddenly very hungry. #BringMeBiscuitsAndGravyASAP

“Everybody was Kung Fu fighting, those kids were fast as lightning. In fact it was a little bit frightening, make sure you have expert timing.”
