World Cup
Unlike the World Series, which just features the U.S. and Canada, the World Cup actually showcases the rest of world. For those of you who are not World Cup fans — which I estimate is about 7,000 out of 7,200 subscribers of the Weekly Report — I thought I’d do you a favor and let you know what happened this week.

Monday, July 9 – Who Let The Dogs Out?
Kara Forbis, our Blacksburg-based VP of Brand Strategy, popped into town Monday and I thought it was just because she missed us, but it turns out we had a meeting with our long time clients Yard Works.
At M+M, we’re dog-friendly and many staffers bring in their pooches, but Monday was the first time a client brought in their puppy. Kara was very excited to see Mary Ann Shepherd and I was excited to see her Dachshund Mickey again. Mickey wasn’t very jazzed to see me apparently because he slept through our meeting.
Tuesday, July 10 – Congrats Leanne!
I am proud to announce that Leanne Ferry was been promoted to Account Manager this week. Although she’s only been a Madison+Main-iac since December, Leanne has made a profound impact on our company and our clients, with her positive “can-do” attitude. Congrats Leanne!
Stripes or solids? Both! Another fashion phenomenon at Madison+Main.
Wednesday, July 11 – Lights, Camera, Fireplace!
On Wednesday, Creative Director Art Webb and Account Executive Haleigh Lader were on location for a photo shoot with our friends at Hearth & Home Shoppe of Mechanicsville. The man behind the lens was our pal Kieran Wagner and as always he snagged some great shots for us.
While the team was clicking away in Mechanicsville, I was able to catch up with my friend and employee benefits guru Debbie Stocks over some tasty pastries at Baker’s Crust.

Art desperately fights the urge to lay down some sweet beats on that drum set.
Thursday, July 12 – Strategy Super Friends
On Thursday, we put on our super strategy hats and hit the road. I headed south to hold a social media training and strategy session with our friends at Commonwealth Dentistry. Haleigh and Communications Manager Kent Brockwell headed west to meet with the superstar marketing team at Radio One to brainstorm promotional strategies for Marketplace Events‘ upcoming Richmond Home Show in October. Then, Kent attended a communications committee meeting for Housing Families First, a non-profit organization in Henrico County that provides families experiencing homelessness with the tools to achieve housing stability.
However, at noon, we all gathered back at M+M Worldwide HQ for a Lunch + Learn session led by our own Graphic Designer and Queen of Cakes Erin Rebmann.

Friday, July 13 – Gone Fishing…Again…
I’ve got a fever, and the only cure is salt water, cheep beer, and angry fish. While you are reading this, I’m with The Insiders bobbing somewhere on the Chesapeake Bay fighting finned monsters off the coast of Reedsville, Virginia. Take a sec to watch Village Bank’s Jeff Crook “Slay the Bay” while Donnie Harper, owner Door-to-Door Solutions, cheers him on.
Have a great weekend!
