Hitting The Reset Button
Hey folks,
Greetings from the Dave-free global headquarters of Madison+Main!
“Wait…did that say ‘Dave-free?'”
Yessiree, friends! This is M+M Communications Manager Kent Jennings Brockwell reportingthat it’s Spring Break again — that magical time of year when teachers and students call a truce for a week to celebrate the warmth, delight, and debilitating pollen onslaught that Q2 brings.
At Madison+Main, it’s also a very special time of the year because Dave finally gets to take an overdue, well-deserved vacation.
Seriously, Dave is a creative juggernaut. For most of the year, he is a perpetual thinking-creating-bold- solution-finding machine. (We’re honestly not sure when he sleeps…or if he ever has.) But when Spring Break returns, he schedules time to hit the reset button.
This week, Clan Saunders took a Caribbean cruise and Dave spent most of his week bombarding our phones and inboxes with photos of fruity neon-hued drinks and his feet sticking out of white sand beaches (Yeah — we know. That’s messed up, right? We’re here in Richmond simply killing it for the agency and he’s sending us photos of his fourth Piña Colada…of the morning. You know what? It’s OK. Payback starts in 3…2…1…)
So while United‘s stock price drops lower than the limbo bar Dave is trying to scurry under before last call in St. [enter your favorite Caribbean port-of-call here], here’s all the news that’s fit to e-print this week at Madison+Main…enjoy!
Monday, April 10: Nibblin’ on sponge cake…
In Madison+Main news: After a great weekend, including a lot of fun at Richmond Ad Club‘s annual awards shindig, it was time to buckle down for a big week of production at M+M. We had a full day of social media work for Virginia Energy Sense and a ton of projects for a major anti-gang campaign we’re creating for Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General.
In Dave vacation news: Dave’s case of the Mondays looked more like an empty case of Presidente, which is best consumed on a boat. See what we mean…

Tuesday, April 11: Watching the sun bake…
In Madison+Main news: Tuesday was a busy day on the road for Marketing and Partnerships Coordinator Sophie Fisher. She spent most of the day scouting potential locations around Hanover County for upcoming TV spots we are producing next week. We can’t tell you who it’s for yet, but we promise you’ll see it soon as election season heats up.
In Dave vacation news: Tuesday was mentally exhausting. Light rum or dark rum? Coconut or pineapple? Tiny umbrella or tiny sword? Vacationing really shouldn’t be so complicated. Dave couldn’t take it any more and finally settled for a refreshing roll in the surf instead.

Wednesday, April 12: …all those Daves covered with oil
In Madison+Main news: On Wednesday, we put the finishing touches on Sycamore Vet‘s ribbon cutting and open house event, which is coming up on Sunday, April 23. ICYMI, our friends at Sycamore Vet recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art 12,000 sq. ft. animal hospital they built in the heart of Midlothian. It’s quite impressive. Come check it out!
In Dave vacation news: There is something so peaceful and introspective about those endless stretches of white sand in the islands. To reflect on Madison+Main’s success this spring, Dave took a break from the hustle and bustle of ship life today and took a long, quiet stroll.

Thursday, April 13: There’s New Kent wine in the blender…
In Madison+Main news: It was another beautiful day in #RVA, so we were excited for our client meeting at New Kent Winery to chat with their team about SEO updates to their website, renovations at The Vineyard Estate, and more. If you haven’t visited New Kent Winery yet, you are really missing out. The wine is great (try the Meritage), they have tasty small plates now, and it’s simply beautiful this time of the year.
In Dave vacation news: After a full day of sailing warm, turquoise waters, Dave was ready for a nap at the villa…but not before snapping another pic in his new swimsuit! Oh, Dave!

Friday, April 14: Happy Easter from the Main-iacs!
In Madison+Main news: Dave took a few minutes to call us from paradise to let us know the 2 p.m. Good Friday rule was in effect. So we tidied up our projects for the week, overfed the fish, emptied the office bar, turned off the lights, locked the door, and ran to our cars at 1:27 p.m.
In Dave vacation news: [Please read the preceding paragraph, try to forgive us for the Dave-in-a-bikini Photoshop work, and have a lovely Easter weekend!]

“This is no longer a vacation. It’s a quest. It’s a quest for fun. You’re gonna have fun, and I’m gonna have fun… We’re all gonna have so much…fun we’re gonna need plastic surgery to remove our…smiles!”
