Richmond is fortunate to be home to many memorable restaurants. Luckily the Main-iacs are huge foodies, but what if they could only pick one restaurant? I recently asked the team, “if you had to move to an island, which Richmond restaurant would you bring with you?”
Here were their responses:
Senior Account Manager, Katie Hurst: “I would have to bring Can Can Brasserie. It is a great place to enjoy drinks and a light meal paired with great service. Who wouldn’t want that on the island?”
VP of Brand Strategy, Kara Forbis: “Angela’s! For those of you who don’t know, it’s a West End restaurant with amazing and authentic Italian food.”
Art Director, Jeff Smack: “I would bring the home-cooked country fixin’s of Comfort. Of course, this also includes the draft list at their bar.”
Marketing Administrator, Lindsey Durfee: “I vote for Millie’s. Definitely need good breakfast on the island!”
Art Director, Scott Harris: “I am taking Capital Ale House because then I wouldn’t be stranded on an island… I would be in a beer and burger heaven… and I would never, ever leave.” (Secretly, we believe Scott would finagle a way to bring two restaurants, the second being City Dogs… he even has a hot dog named after him there!)
Digital Marketing Manager, Dorsey McFadden: “The Magpie. It is located in Carver and I am dying for the bacon-rubbed rib eye and lobster corndogs!”
Account Executive, Sarah Dawes: “Even though I’ve only been once… I am in love with Sub Rosa. The Church Hill bakery suffered a terrible fire in April and will be reopening soon; once it does, I’m taking it for the island!”
Account Manager, Kelley Miller: “Hands down I would bring Lunch, because their food is fabulous and they always have great specials! My favorite drink is their mimosa, which is served over crushed ice, in a mason jar… win!”
Graphic Designer, Colleen Festa: “I don’t want to live without Pescado’s. The crab macho nachos are delicious! Plus, they can always catch some fresh fish from the island.”
Account Executive, Sammy Yatco: “I would bring Akida from the Fan. The reason? The sushi is so good and the staff is friendly!”
Account Management Intern, Dustin Hennessy & Production Intern Taylor Thornton: “We both would pick Qudoba (I told them this didn’t count 🙂 ). Okay, okay we’d pick The Village Café!”
Well, as for me, I couldn’t live without Jo Jo’s Pizza! Even though Jo Jo’s is only open for lunch, it is one of the few places where you can find New York-style pizza in Richmond.
