After 10 days of cruising around the Caribbean, I found myself back in the lovely sub-tropical Richmond, Virginia this week. Watch out world, I’m tan…rested…and ready.
Tuesday 4/9 – My workweek started on Tuesday morning with a three hour email Inbox cleanup. I am absolutely amazed at how many emails I get when I go on vacation. Lucky for me, things run smoother at Madison+Main when I am gone than when I am here in the office. Special thanks last week to Graphic Designer, Colleen Festa, who did an admirable job writing the Madison+Main Weekly Report!
Wednesday 4/10 – On Wednesday I participated in my first roundtable discussion with the Virginia Council of CEO’s. I was very impressed with the group and I am thankful for the opportunity to join this august body. I have been threatening Scott McRoberts that I would be joining the organization for years. If you are the leader of an upwardly mobile company in Virginia you should investigate membership at the Virginia Council of CEO’s. Find out more here.
Wednesday afternoon I was back in the saddle and doing what I do best, writing award-winning ads. Cough, cough, humble, cough, not, excuse me. Next week we’re shooting a new TV ad for our Strasburg, Virginia based client, First Bank. This one will be wackier than the first one. And I can’t wait to see Capital Ale House’s full-page ad saluting JMU grads next month in The Breeze.
Thursday 4/11 – On Thursday I spent most of the day working on various PR and marketing projects for our new client, Richard Bland College. Although we’ve only been working with the team at RBC for a few weeks, we are very impressed by their passion and enthusiasm. We are rolling out a total market campaign this Spring, designed to increase Fall enrollment at the college.
Friday 4/12 – Earlier today I learned that the final tally for our MS Walk team was $1,305 thanks to you, our generous friends and clients, so we say thank you. By the way, did you see 2,000 Richmonders doing the Harlem Shake at this year’s Walk MS? Click here for the replay. It’s hilarious.
Account Executive, Sarah Dawes, and I met with Susan Shackelford, CEO of Virginia ENT and had a great lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille. Susan and her team have an excellent new website and I highly recommend that you check it out at http://www.virginiaent.com/.
Wherever your travels take you this weekend, I hope you find sunny skies and smiling faces.
Ciao,
Dave Saunders
