Traditionally, the MS Society hosts an annual Bike MS: Bike Virginia fundraising event where participants ride from Richmond to Williamsburg and back over the course of two days. This event challenges folks to a 150-mile course, with an option to add an additional 25 miles on the first day – a hefty amount to pack in!
Have you been itching to sign up but were overwhelmed by the 150-mile commitment? Have no fear! The National MS Society has created an opportunity for people like you and me to support the event virtually with their new Virtual Rider Program! This new program was launched by the Central Virginia Chapter to accommodate both individuals and teams.
The Virtual Rider Program targets some of the following:
1. Those who do not own a road bike
2. Those who cannot commit to 150 miles
3. Those who are out of town during Bike MS
4. Those who have an injury that prevents then from participating
This year’s virtual Bike MS: Ride Virginia will take place at participating YMCA locations this upcoming Sunday, May 19th from 2:30pm – 5:30pm. All riders will complete 25 miles on exercise bikes. You can still sign up* here to join the movement to create a world free of MS!
This is a great opportunity for the Central Virginia Chapter to increase awareness, donations and participation for the Bike MS: Ride Virginia cause, because it allows individuals who would not normally join, contribute to the event.
* The registration cost for this program in $29.99
